(DailyChive.com ) – Iconic Hollywood Actor Robert De Niro has expressed deep concern about the possibility of former President Donald Trump returning to the White House in November’s elections, fearing repercussions for his safety. De Niro shared his apprehension during an HBO’s Real Time appearance with Bill Maher, suggesting that a Trump victory could lead to unforeseeable consequences, including personal threats.
De Niro voiced concerns about the potential outcome of the election, suggesting that a Trump win would have significant consequences.
The actor painted a grim picture of a Trump victory in November, describing it as a “nightmare.” He emphasized the importance of voting for Joe Biden to restore normalcy, contrasting it with what he perceives as a bleak future under Trump.
However, De Niro’s comments overlooked the current administration’s challenges under President Joe Biden. Rising inflation has driven consumer prices to historic highs, placing significant financial strain on Americans.
Additionally, the surge of over seven million illegal immigrants into the country has stretched resources thin, particularly in cities like New York – the actor’s hometown.
Reflecting on the aftermath of the 2016 election, De Niro expressed a desire to avoid a similar sense of disbelief and dismay. He criticized Trump’s character, describing him as “nasty” and “mean.”
De Niro’s outspokenness against Trump and his supporters isn’t new. Despite the Hollywood actor’s strike affecting his promotional activities for his latest movie, Killers of the Flower Moon, De Niro has remained vocal about his disdain for Trump and those who align with him.
Speaking at the “Stop Trump Summit,” organized by The New Republic, De Niro urged attendees to engage respectfully with Trump’s followers while simultaneously deriding them for supposedly betraying democracy. He labeled Trump as “evil” and warned of dire consequences if he clinches the presidency come November.
The actor’s absence at the event due to COVID-19 didn’t deter the delivery of his message, read aloud by Miles Taylor, a former Trump administration official turned critic.
