Biden Admin Warned About Secret Service Needing More Help for Trump

(DailyChive.com) – On Monday, President Joe Biden urged Congress to provide more resources to the Secret Service to protect former President Donald Trump. This comes after two failed assassination attempts on Trump in just over two months, raising concerns about his safety.

Vice President Kamala Harris, despite being a long-time political rival of Trump, made a statement the same day but didn’t mention increasing resources for the Secret Service.

Speaking to reporters outside the White House, Biden emphasized the urgency of the situation. “One thing I want to make clear is: The Service needs more help. And I think Congress should respond to their need,” he stated. Biden added that it would be up to the Secret Service to determine if they need additional personnel or resources.

House Speaker Mike Johnson also believes Trump requires more security, but some have pointed out that his record on delivering promises remains questionable. Johnson’s critics are skeptical of his follow-through on such issues.

Just this past Sunday, authorities arrested 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh for allegedly attempting to assassinate Trump while the former president was golfing in South Florida. Routh’s online presence reveals a complex political background. He seems to support a neoconservative agenda, frequently posting about the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. At one point, he even attempted to recruit volunteers to join the fight against Russia.

Routh was once a supporter of Trump during the 2016 election but dramatically turned against him by 2020. Earlier this year, he posted, “Make Americans slaves again,” a clear sign of his shift in views. Additionally, reports surfaced that he had a Harris-Biden bumper sticker on his vehicle and donated money to Democratic campaigns.

Disturbingly, in a book about the Ukraine war, Routh encouraged Iran to target Trump. He also blamed Trump for the January 6 Capitol riot, echoing some of the Democratic talking points seen in the media.

Politicians from both sides of the aisle condemned the assassination attempts. However, some in the mainstream media quickly pointed fingers at Trump himself, accusing him of inciting political violence, while conveniently overlooking inflammatory rhetoric from Democrats.
