(DailyChive.com) – Pro-Israel Democratic donors trashed President Joe Biden for his decision to stop weapon shipment to Israel if it invades the city of Rafah, which is considered a major stronghold of the terror outfit Hamas.
One pro-Israel donor, Haim Saban, emailed top officials of the White House, and criticized Biden’s poor approach of stopping American aid to Israel. Saban noted that Biden is leaving American allies in the Middle East alone, but he must not succumb to the mounting pressure from the far-left faction of his party.
Mark Mellman, who is also actively involved in the Democratic party fundraisers, stated that an overwhelming majority of pro-Israel voters are worried about Biden’s rising anti-Israel tendencies that can impact his reelection chances.
In a recent interview with CNN, Biden reiterated his resolve not to send missile shipments if Israel continues with its military ambitions in Rafah. The president stated that these weapons, if shipped, would be used against civilians of Rafah, which would initiate a new round of human rights abuses.
Biden further claimed that he would do everything in his capacity to protect Israel’s iron dome that would eventually help the country defend itself against the bombing of its hostile adversaries. However, Biden continued, shipping weapons for war in Rafah is “just wrong.”
There is a common perception among Americans and Israelis that Biden is leaning towards the far-left narrative ahead of this year’s presidential elections to keep his young voting base intact.
Saban reminded Biden that he has repeatedly stated his intention to defeat Hamas, which is not possible without Israel’s military assistance.
Saban, who now seems to be moving away from Biden’s ideology, has previously donated a significant amount of money to Biden’s campaign and even organized fundraisers for him. He once called Biden the most pro-Israel president in the history of the United States, adding that the president has even tolerated the political cost of backing the Jewish nation.
