(DailyChive.com) – President Joe Biden accused Republicans of hindering US border security by not passing a bipartisan bill, which is actually designed to allow more than 1.4 million illegal immigrants into the United States every year.
According to Biden, GOP lawmakers are prioritizing politics over national security, which is forcing them not to pass the toughest border security legislation in the history of America.
The president was talking about S. 4361, which was recently halted in the Senate. While Biden claims that this bill would protect the southern border from illegal immigration, the bill’s text suggests it only permits law enforcement authorities to close the border only after welcoming 4,000 illegal immigrants daily.
The bill was also seeking executive authority for the president to shut down the border in case of the 4,000 daily encounters for seven consecutive days. If these many illegal aliens are allowed on a daily basis, it would result in over 1.4 million people entering the country in one calendar year.
This number does not include nearly 30,000 other illegal aliens who will enter the United States monthly from four countries, Venezuela, Haiti, Cuba, and Nicaragua, under Biden’s generous parole programs inspired by the far-left faction of the Democratic Party.
Meanwhile, White House insiders have also revealed that Biden is planning to use his executive authority to close the border after 4,000 crossing daily. This means that the president is shifting the blame for the deteriorating border condition on Republicans at a time when he can even do it himself with an executive order.
Illegal immigration has emerged as a hot-button issue ahead of the 2024 presidential elections due to the rising encounters at the Southern border.
Polling data suggests that voters are viewing open borders as the biggest problem facing the country at the moment, with almost one in three Americans favoring a complete shutdown of the southern border to manage the prevailing chaos.
