(DailyChive.com) – During a recent rally appearance from President Joe Biden, the president made a concerning remark about Republicans, telling the audience that they should “beat the hell” out of them in the upcoming election.
On Thursday, Aug. 15, the president made his first public appearance since dropping out of the 2024 presidential race at the end of July. He appeared at a rally in Prince George’s County, Maryland, alongside Vice President Kamala Harris, who he officially endorsed to replace him on the Democratic ticket.
Biden told the crowd that he would show them the Democratic Party’s Project 2025, which he said was to “beat the hell out” of the Republican Party. “I mean it!” he added as the audience cheered. The president was making a reference to an agenda published by the Heritage Foundation titled “Project 2025,” which Democrats have been accusing former President Donald Trump of championing despite the fact that Trump said on multiple occasions he isn’t part of the initiative and doesn’t support it.
The conservative blueprint became a hot topic for Democratic critics, who keep bringing it up during their speeches and media appearances. Project 2025 lays out a set of policies for a second Trump term.
Biden’s remark wasn’t received positively by Democratic rivals, who took to social media to point out the questionable rhetoric. Trump’s campaign account on X, “Trump War Room,” called the comment “disgusting” and pointed out how Biden made the remark only a month after Trump survived an assassination attempt in Butler County, Pennsylvania, at one of his campaign rallies.
Another popular conservative account, Libs of TikTok, asked if the comment constituted “a call to violence.” Journalist Collin Rugg pointed out that if the former president made a similar remark, the mainstream media would give it “wall-to-wall coverage” for three weeks.
The president delivered another speech recently, on the first day of the Democratic National Convention (DNC), where he told the delegates that he gave his “best shot” as their candidate before withdrawing from the race. Biden said his time serving as president “has been the honor” of his lifetime. He also dismissed rumors that he was “angry” at those in his party who suggested he step aside.
