(DailyChive.com) – Arizona law enforcement authorities recovered the remains of a missing woman days after the arrest of her husband, who initiated the police complaint about her disappearance but found himself behind bars as the investigation progressed.
The Flagstaff Police Department stated that they found the body of Kelly Paduchowski on the morning of June 5. However, the police refused to disclose the exact location where the body was recovered due to the ongoing investigations.
Kelly’s husband, Daniel Paduchowski, launched a complaint on June 30, in which he claimed that his wife did not return home after jogging and swimming. The complaint mobilized the law enforcement authorities, who later found that Kelly’s cell phone was present in the hiking area of Schultz Creek Trailhead at 10:20 am. Just an hour later, Daniel was also seen in the same area, which brought him under police scrutiny.
As the police investigated the case, they interviewed multiple family members and neighbors of the couple and came across some disturbing evidence in the couple’s house that showed signs of domestic violence against Kelly.
Daniels has now admitted to killing his wife as he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, evidence tampering, concealing a dead body and possessing drugs.
Unlike most homicide cases that take years to reach their conclusion, Kelly’s murder has been resolved in just five days. According to the Flagstaff police chief, Sean Connolly, he has heard people talking about this case everywhere, like restaurants, barber shops, and local businesses, adding that the swift outcome of the case and so much concern about the murder show the interconnected nature of the local Flagstaff communities.
The police are yet to disclose the details of the murder, but court documents reveal that neighbors saw Daniels pushing her wife to the ground and later cleaning the same area with a hose. Investigators also found fresh blood at the couple’s residence. Daniels can now be imprisoned for 16 years in prison without any possibility of parole.
