College Students Claim Drugging Incident at Cancun Resort

(DailyChive.com) – Two students from Oklahoma nearly died from contaminated water while vacationing in Cancun, Mexico, at a resort.

On Friday, Aug. 2, Zara Hull and Kaylie Pitze, both students from Oklahoma State University, became extremely ill and lost consciousness after drinking water served at a poolside bar at the resort hotel they stayed at in Cancun. Hull and her family later shared unnerving images showing the moment the two girls said they went unconscious.

Hull told reporters that she called her mom early that morning to tell her about the resort and how beautiful she found it only for them to be contacted later by her boyfriend, Jake, to find out Hull was “completely incoherent” and then “unconscious.” Hull and Pitze were on a four-day trip to Cancun with a group of friends, which was supposed to be a dream vacation yet turned into a nightmare from tainted water.

Jake’s mother, Stephanie Snider, posted about the incident on social media and said that someone slipped a drug into the water that the two girls were drinking at the resort bar on that Friday and that they both started to pass out around the same time. Snider said her son and Hull were “finally back” home after what she described as “the most horrific 48 hours” of their lives.

Hull’s boyfriend said he believes an employee at the resort slipped something into Hull and Pitze’s drinks when they sat down and were served. The young man said he took a picture of them shortly after they were served the water and that a “bubbling fizzing effect” could be seen in the water glass in the photo. “Something was in there,” Jake said, and the girls both dropped “at the same time” only a couple of minutes after taking a sip.

Jake said he had to carry his girlfriend back to their room while Pitze was taken back to hers in a wheelchair. The girls threw up and Jake thought Hull was having a seizure. After hospitalization and giant medical bills, Hull and Pitze eventually recovered and were able to travel home. They have no memory of what happened after passing out.
