Democratic Unity Threatened by Racial Comments Linked to Harris

(DailyChive.com) – A duet of black lady activists who regularly visited Vice President Kamala Harris could harm the Harris campaign’s efforts to rally white women to vote for her as the next president. The Harris campaign has already been attempting to attract the interest of female voters with the previous attempts to characterize the GOP as “weird.” Now, they’re openly courting the vote of white women specifically.

Longtime activist Cora Masters Barry and Leader of the National Coalition of Black Civic Participation Melanie Campbell were reported to have been to the Biden White House over 50 times between the pair of them. At least a dozen of those visits were spent with Vice President Harris or her staff.

Shortly before Biden took office in January 2021, the ladies were on a Zoom call where they suggested white women weren’t needed due to their tendency to obey their husbands. They also used an expletive to describe their sentiments about white women specifically. Conservatives are using the ladies as an example of the internal divisions with the Democratic party regarding how to solicit enough votes to win an election.

Last week, over a hundred thousand white women were on another Zoom call organized by Moms Demand Action and several female celebrities. The event was titled “White Women: Answer the Call,” and reportedly generated millions of dollars for Harris’ bid. They’re also expected to generate more money in future calls.

Harris recently talked about “unity,” and the need for it to win the election, and thus conservatives are highlighting the derogatory remarks made by Barry and Campbell previously. Barry said that Trump had all the “trailer parks” and “the hills” covered, implying his supporters were low-class rural whites.

Barry then said “F— the white women,” before correcting herself and suggesting that white women will obey white men, so pursuing their votes wasn’t worth the effort. Barry suggested she’d “blow it up” if there was another Women’s March,” demonstrating her opinions of her fellow American women. Campbell also said she had “no interest” in understanding white people and suggested the issue was about racial privilege and maintaining racial authority. Barry said that the Harris campaign should utilize “white guilt money” since there was plenty of it to go around.

The Harris campaign has previously had issues with hiring people who made multiple inflammatory statements online.
