(DailyChive.com) – Sean Combs, famously known by his stage name Diddy, apologized for beating his former girlfriend Cassie.
As a video of Diddy assaulting her then-girlfriend Casandra Ventura, known as Cassie, went viral, the rapper took responsibility for his actions in a self-recorded video message, stating that he was at the lowest point of his life at that time.
Diddy, however, added that his apology is not an excuse for his actions, which are not defendable at any cost.
After the incident, Diddy continued, he went through therapy and rehabilitation sessions with the help of professionals.
He also stated he strives to become a better human being with every passing day. However, Diddy did not mention Cassie in his apology video.
The highly disturbing video shows a 2016 incident where the rapper could be seen running behind Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel before slapping her, kicking her multiple times, grabbing her purse, and dragging her away.
The tragic episode of violence resembles the description of a 2023 court case where Cassie accused his ex-boyfriend of physically and sexually assaulting her.
She also revealed that when she started her relationship with Diddy back in 2005, she was only 19 years old, with Combs being 37. She further stated that the rapper took “complete control” of her life, intoxicated her with drugs and forced her to date him, adding that she continued hiding from him in hotels for days.
The lawsuit was later resolved with an undisclosed settlement.
The music mogul has long denied the allegations and instead accused Cassie of damaging his reputation through lies.
Combs’ lawyer accused Cassie of blackmailing his client, adding that she has demanded $30 million from him and threatened him to damage his reputation by writing a book.
Now that the violent video has been released, Cassie’s lawyer suggests that he admires the courage of Ventura, who came forward against such injustice.
Meanwhile, Diddy can no longer be prosecuted for his actions due to the statute of limitations.
