(DailyChive.com) – In a recent interview, former Clinton campaign adviser Dick Morris predicted a huge win for Donald Trump in the next presidential election. Morris even went as far as to call it an “electoral landslide” if Trump faces Kamala Harris.
Talking with Jeff Katz on “The Jeff Katz Show,” Morris said he thinks this election could be a “complete wipeout.” He believes that even if Republicans don’t gain any more seats in Congress, a Trump victory would still give them control.
Morris thinks Trump will win by a solid margin. He predicted Trump could narrowly win the popular vote but secure a sweeping victory in the Electoral College. He compared this to Trump’s 2016 win over Hillary Clinton, where Trump lost the popular vote but won by a large margin in the Electoral College.
According to Morris, Trump is likely to carry all the key swing states, though he expressed some doubt about Wisconsin. Morris confidently predicted Trump victories in states like Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. He even suggested that Trump could pick up surprise wins in places like Virginia and Minnesota.
“If Trump does as well as I expect, he could end up with around 360 electoral votes,” Morris said, “while Harris would be left with about 100. It would be an absolute wipeout.”
Host Jeff Katz shared his own hunch that Trump could win in Virginia, a state that’s recently been leaning Democratic. Morris agreed, saying Trump has a “very good chance” there.
Katz then asked if Trump’s success could help Republicans win control of both the House and the Senate. Morris said he believes Trump will help the GOP keep the House and possibly gain five to ten seats. For the Senate, he sees Republicans winning in places like West Virginia, Montana, and possibly Ohio.
Morris added that while Michigan and Wisconsin are uncertain, Trump’s polling there looks positive. He noted that undecided voters often break against incumbents, which could hurt Democrats in tight Senate races. If Trump wins big, Morris said, Republicans may gain several Senate seats, solidifying their control.
Ultimately, Morris sees strong momentum for Trump, while Harris’ attacks on him as an “elite billionaire” aren’t working, according to him. Morris concluded, “Trump looks great going into this election.”
