Former Border Patrol and ICE Agents Express Desire to Rejoin, Says Homan

(DailyChive.com) – Tom Homan, President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for border czar, revealed during a recent interview that thousands of former border agents and law enforcement officials are eager to return to work. Speaking on SiriusXM’s The David Webb Show, Homan explained that many of these individuals had left their jobs because they felt they couldn’t fulfill their duties under previous policies. With a new administration focused on law enforcement, they’re ready to step back in.

Homan emphasized the need for additional manpower to carry out Trump’s ambitious immigration plans, including mass deportations. “A lot of guys retired early or left because they weren’t able to do the job they took an oath to do,” he said. He also mentioned that the Department of Defense (DOD) could play a critical role in supporting these efforts, but not in the way some might assume.

“We’re not talking about sending the military into U.S. cities to arrest people,” Homan clarified. Instead, he suggested that the DOD could assist with administrative and logistical tasks. For instance, they could handle transportation, build infrastructure, or provide intelligence support—allowing immigration officers to focus on enforcement. He emphasized that inter-agency collaboration would be vital. “If DOD can help me, great. Other agencies, we’d love their help too,” he added.

Homan expressed frustration with Democrat governors and officials who have resisted federal immigration enforcement. “I don’t understand what city or state wouldn’t want to help remove public safety and national security threats from their community,” he said. He warned that opposition wouldn’t stop his team. “If they don’t want to help us, just get out of the way. We’re going to do it. You’re not going to stop us.”

In the past two days alone, Homan said he’s received “thousands” of messages from retired border patrol agents, ICE agents, police officers, and military personnel eager to join the effort. However, he acknowledged that expanding the team would depend on the budget Congress approves. Homan also addressed how resource constraints could challenge the scale of operations.

“We’re going to do the job,” Homan vowed. “Despite the hate, the resistance, and the roadblocks, we’re going to get it done. So either join us or get out of our way.”
