GOP Moves to Block Joe Biden’s Efforts to Bring Palestinians to the U.S.

(DailyChive.com) – Republican lawmakers are aiming to reverse President Joe Biden’s efforts to bring Palestinian refugees into the United States.

Three conservative congressmen, Scott Perry, Andy Ogles, and Tom Tiffany wrote a letter to House Appropriators, asking them to include a provision in the Fiscal Year 2025 spending bill that would not allow the government to fund any scheme of granting refugee to the Palestinian passport holders.

The House Republicans stated that the United States must not suffer from a massive influx of migrants every time the world is at war. They noted that despite the wishes from the leftists to accommodate the Palestinian refugees, the administration should not open the borders for the war-torn nations, and the regional countries should step up to help these refugees. If the US has made allies all over the world, these partners should also play their roles in absorbing these migrants, the lawmakers added.

This letter came in response to the efforts of the Biden administration to resettle Palestinian refugees in the United States. Multiple Senate and House Democrats have already indicated their willingness to support this settlement program.

Rep. Ogles stated that many Palestinians support Hamas’s actions and that allowing them into the United States could compromise national security.

Similarly, Rep. Tom Tiffany argued that Biden should not be allowed to use the United States as a “dumping ground” for global problems.

Senate Republicans are also worried about Biden’s possible actions regarding Palestinian refugees. At least 35 Republican senators are pushing the administration to disclose details about the potential resettlement program.

Senator Joni Ernst from Iowa told the president that it will become next to impossible for the government to separate terror sympathizers from other refugees as a lot of Palestinians support Hamas’s actions.

House Republicans have already introduced the “GAZA Act” to stop Palestinian immigrants from coming to the United States.

The US is already grappling with an immigration crisis, and the admission of Palestinian refugees will only intensify the situation.
