(DailyChive.com) – Republican Congressman Byron Donalds indicated sweeping border reforms and mass deportations should Republicans win the 2024 elections.
While speaking at Fox News, Donalds stated that former President Donald Trump had secured the US southern border during his tenure, which stopped illegal immigration. However, the moment President Joe Biden was inaugurated, he started reversing Trump’s policies just because of his political differences with him, which eventually made Americans suffer.
The conservative lawmaker revealed that a Republican federal government will reverse catch-and-release border protocols and reintroduce the “Remain in Mexico” policy that sought to keep certain illegal immigrants in Mexico until their court date in the United States. The Biden administration halted the policy, which resulted in an unprecedented boom in illegal immigration.
Donalds also suggested that the next Trump administration will launch a mass deportation operation to send back millions of illegal immigrants that have pushed multiple US cities into chaos.
He also grilled Biden for welcoming potential criminals in the country who recently breached the Marine Corps Base in Quantico.
An overwhelming number of illegal immigrants, Donalds continued, are even trying to climb the border wall in California to enter the US.
According to lawmakers, Republicans will also strive to pass border legislation from the House and the Senate if they win the majority to give Trump more power to control the chaotic southern border.
This is not the first time that a prominent Republican figure has announced plans for possible mass deportation of illegal aliens from the United States.
Trump has also previously announced his plans to adopt the “Eisenhower model” in his second term to crack down on illegal immigration, which has soared to new heights under the Biden administration.
He was speaking about the Operation Wetback of former president Dwight Eisenhower, who deported hundreds of thousands of illegal Mexican immigrants who entered the US.
However, law enforcement agents believe that launching an operation on such a huge scale will require massive funding, possibly approved by Congress.
