Harris’ Presidential Run Collects $1 Billion in Record Time

(DailyChive.com) – Vice President Kamala Harris has raised over $1 billion in just three months as a presidential candidate, according to a report from the New York Times. The Times cited “three people with knowledge” of the fundraising totals, which surpassed what former President Donald Trump has announced for his campaign.

What makes this even more impressive is the speed with which Harris and her party affiliates collected the money. While other candidates have raised similar amounts, the Times noted that Harris did it faster than most.

However, not everything is looking up for Harris. There have been growing concerns among Democrats about the state of the 2024 presidential race, with many feeling anxious. Some are worried that the race feels eerily similar to the 2016 election, where polls didn’t tell the whole story, and the unexpected happened. Polls are tight, and with less than a month to go, things could still swing either way.

According to one source from Harris’ campaign, Democrats are feeling nervous because the polls have barely moved. “People are nervous. They know the polls are tight,” the source said. “A lot of us are having these flashbacks to 2016.”

Recent polling shows a close race between Harris and Trump. A Wall Street Journal poll in seven battleground states shows Trump slightly ahead, leading Harris 46% to 45%. This is adding to the tension within the Democratic Party as many see the 2024 race as almost too close to call.

Harris has been trying to boost her visibility by going on a media blitz. She recently appeared on shows like The View and the Call Her Daddy podcast, and even spoke with radio host Howard Stern and late-night host Stephen Colbert. While these appearances have been well-received by her supporters, Republicans and critics have pointed out that Harris has avoided the media for much of her campaign.

Many have also criticized her for shifting her stance on several key issues, like fracking and immigration, since she first ran for president in 2019.
