Harris Team Accuses Trump of Attempting to Hijack 2024 Election

(DailyChive.com) – Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign is blaming former President Donald Trump for stealing the 2024 presidential election as the Trump campaign launched a Federal Election Commission (FEC) complaint accusing Harris of unauthorizedly accessing $91 million of Joe Biden’s leftover campaign funds.

After Biden dropped out of the presidential race, the Biden campaign was quick to officially change its name to the Harris campaign, which immediately gave the vice president access to more than $91 million of cash. This led the Trump campaign to file an FEC complaint against Harris, claiming that this was the largest-ever violation of the Federal Election Campaign Act.

However, the Harris campaign slammed the former president and propagated conspiracy theories about Trump’s attempt to “steal” the election.

According to the Harris campaign spokesman Charles Lutvak, the FEC complaint against them was “baseless,” adding that this is just a part of Republicans’ longstanding tactics of suppressing voters and stealing the public mandate.

Lutvak further argued that the Trump campaign is envious of Democrats’ rising enthusiasm for defeating Trump’s MAGA agenda, which will not stop Harris’s campaign from strengthening their grassroots presence and winning the White House race.

Trump’s campaign attorney, David Warrington, is currently seeking criminal reference against the Harris campaign’s chief treasurer, Keana Spencer, for her fraudulent practice of repurposing a political campaign committee that was originally meant to serve Joe Biden.

Warrington further accused the Harris campaign of filing compromised forms with the FEC while repurposing the political campaign committee.

There is a division among legal experts of how Harris can and cannot use Biden’s hefty campaign cash, with most experts calling it a “complicated” issue.

With just over three months remaining in the elections, it remains unclear whether the FEC, which is known for dragging the complaints for years, can reach an immediate conclusion regarding Biden’s campaign funds.

The FEC still has a backlog from the 2016 and 2020 elections, which the agency failed to clear due to bureaucratic hurdles.
