(DailyChive.com) – Former First Lady and U.S Senator Hillary Clinton has addressed the lingering concerns surrounding President Biden’s age, saying it is a “legitimate issue” during a recent interview with MSNBC’s Alex Wagner. Addressing the issue head-on, Clinton highlighted that discussions about age are not exclusive to Biden. Still, they also extend to former President Donald Trump as well, given their relatively close ages.
During the interview, Clinton, who ran as the Democratic nominee for president in 2016, expressed her support for Biden, emphasizing her endorsement based on his merits and performance as president. She praised Biden’s leadership, stating that she believed he had done an excellent job as president.
In offering advice to Biden, Clinton suggested that he leverage his years of experience to address concerns about his age. She encouraged him to incorporate humor into his responses and to emphasize his extensive knowledge, which goes beyond the political space. She said that he should embrace his background experience and wisdom.
Hillary’s remarks come under scrutiny of the Biden administration, with former President Bill Clinton’s lead strategist, James Carville, raising concerns about the White House’s confidence in Biden. Carville raised concerns about Biden’s decision to decline a Super Bowl Sunday interview, which he interpreted as a sign of diminished confidence from the administration.
Sharing Carville’s concerns, former Bill Clinton strategist and CNN political commentator Paul Begala acknowledged the negative impact of recent events on the Democratic Party. Referring to Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report, which revealed that Biden had retained classified U.S. documents as a private citizen, Begala said the situation is a significant setback for Democrats. Despite his support for Biden, Begala did not shy away from acknowledging the challenges posed by the report’s findings.
While recommending no charges against President Biden, the report highlighted his actions but cited his possible defense as a sympathetic, well-intentioned, older man with a poor memory. This revelation has further fueled recent concerns about his ability to lead effectively, raising doubts about his competence to lead the nation.
