(DailyChive.com) – Liberal Hollywood megadonors are planning to donate generously to Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign as she is all set to become the Democratic presidential nominee after Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the White House race.
One longtime Democratic donor from Hollywood, who preferred to stay anonymous, revealed that there is a rising enthusiasm among wealthy Hollywood donors after Harris’s emergence as the possible Democratic presidential nominee.
Many Hollywood donors who stopped their cash flow to the Biden campaign after the president’s miserable debate performance last month are also calling to end the “Dembargo” that tried to create a financial crunch for Biden and force him out of the White House race.
Producer Damon Lindelof announced to lift the “DEMBARGO,” revealing that Biden’s withdrawal has made him excited for the upcoming presidential elections.
Reed Hastings, the Chairman of the Netflix Board of Directors, who slammed Biden after the presidential debate, also announced to donate $7 million to a pro-Harris PAC.
Hollywood, which is famously known as the “ATM for Democrats”, was always a big source of Democratic donations even before Biden’s decision to step out of the race. However, the emergence of a younger candidate on the presidential ticket has also mobilized the estranged members of the community.
In June, the Biden campaign bagged over $30 million in funding from an event hosted by actors Julia Roberts and George Clooney. The Biden campaign called this event the largest fundraiser in the history of the Democratic party.
The cash coming from the deep pockets of the Hollywood giants will swell Harris’s presidential campaign accounts, which have already raised more than $250 million since Biden’s withdrawal.
A large number of leading actors, singers, and celebrities from Hollywood, including Robert De Niro, George Takei, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Stiller, John Legend, Jon Cryer, and Better Midler, quickly rallied behind Harris right after Biden’s departure from the presidential race. Actress Sharon Stone even announced to flee the United States and move to Europe if Trump wins the presidency.
