Illegal Alien Causes Fatal Crash, Killing 29-Year-Old

(DailyChive.com) – In Bastrop County, Texas, 29-year-old Grayson Christopher Davis lost his life after a tragic car crash involving a drunk driver, now identified as Jorge Miguel Peralta, an undocumented immigrant. The accident has left Davis’s family grieving, saying this loss could have been prevented if immigration laws were better enforced.

The crash happened on October 13. According to police reports, Peralta, age 35, was driving after consuming five beers, which led to a multi-car collision. Grayson Davis, an energetic young man known for his big heart and infectious smile, was simply going about his day when he was struck. His mother, Ashley Davis, described the shock of receiving a text about the accident that Sunday evening. “You hear these stories, but you never think it’ll happen to you,” she told reporters. The message she received told her that her son had been hit by a truck, driven by an undocumented drunk driver.

Emergency responders acted fast, airlifting Davis to a nearby hospital. However, his injuries were too severe, and he passed away three days later. Police officers reported that Peralta tried to flee the scene on foot, but he was soon apprehended and charged with intoxicated manslaughter, a serious felony. Currently, he is held in Bastrop County Jail, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed a detainer on him, meaning they could take him into custody if he’s released.

Grayson’s death has ignited calls from his family and community to strengthen immigration laws. His mother, Ashley, expressed her grief and frustration, urging for change to prevent other families from facing similar pain. “I’m begging someone out there to understand that this cannot continue,” she said, breaking down as she spoke. She emphasized that it’s about making changes so this tragedy doesn’t repeat itself.

In his obituary, Grayson was remembered for his “magnetic personality, big heart, and ever-present smile.” It described how he made everyone feel loved and valued, leaving a lasting impact even in his short 29 years. He is survived by his girlfriend Taylor Pearce, his parents, siblings, nieces, and many friends who mourn the loss of a man who, in his brief life, brightened the lives of those around him.
