(DailyChive.com) – Jill Biden’s former Press Secretary, Michael LaRosa, who also worked with Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential campaign, grilled the White House on its over-optimistic approach to praise President Biden’s performance at the recently-concluded NATO summit.
LaRosa took to social media outlet X to defend Trump’s former deputy press secretary, Sarah Matthews, who was criticizing Biden’s incumbent deputy press secretary, Andrew Bates, over his remarks that Biden is “f—ing good” as he answered every question without having a doctorate degree in foreign affairs.
LaRosa noted that delivering one smooth press conference must not be the benchmark Democrats should aim for in the presidential election year, adding that most liberals are living in their fool’s paradise and “alternate universe.” He added that Biden’s own staffers are setting “f—ing terrifying” thresholds for him, which does not resonate with the views of the majority of Democratic stakeholders.
Talking to Fox News, LaRosa suggested that Bates is doing his job by portraying optimism about Biden’s leadership. However, LaRosa continued, no one is questioning Biden’s deep understanding of foreign and domestic issues, given his impressive legislative record throughout his political career. Instead, Democrats are concerned about the president’s lack of sharpness and agility in important matters, which raises questions about his leadership, he added.
LaRosa also slammed Bates and other White House officials who set the bar too low for the president. He argued that Biden has previously served as the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the Vice President of the United States before assuming the presidency, and setting such low thresholds to judge his effectiveness only insults such a veteran politician.
Conservatives also slammed Bates for his social media post. Senator Josh Hawley’s communication director, Abigail Jackson, mocked Bates, stating that Biden confused Kamala Harris with Donald Trump and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy with Russia’s Putin before the same press conference for which he is being praised.
Bates also faced criticism for his word choice, as some commentators pointed out that the word “f—ing” is well beneath the integrity of the office he currently holds.
