Judge Lashes Out at Trump Witness in Court

(DailyChive.com) – Donald Trump’s hush money trial judge, Juan Merchan, chided Trump’s witness, who allegedly expressed frustration over the judge’s continuous attempts to sustain objections from prosecution lawyers.

Michael Cohen’s ex-legal advisor, Robert Costello, took the witness stand in the Manhattan court, where he became involved in a heated exchange with Merchan.

The judge repeatedly sustained objections from prosecutors even without hearing the full questions of the defendants. This is where Costello lost his composure and whispered words like “jeez” and “ridiculous.”

As Merchan continued to ignore Trump’s defense, Costello started blowing raspberries, which made the judge visibly furious, who directed his anger towards him.

According to Merchan, Costello must not utter words at him and that the judge has a sole authority to strike a testimony during court proceedings, and no one else should try to influence his decisions.

After that, the judge ordered the court to be cleared and then further schooled the witness for court discipline.

Recently, Costello appeared in front of the House Weaponization Committee and reiterated his long-standing claims that Trump was not involved in Cohen’s payment to the adult film star Stormy Daniels. According to Costello, Cohen has personally told him numerous times that the former president had no role in the payments.

Costello appeared as a witness in the case at the request of Trump’s lawyer, Emil Bove, to counter Cohen’s claims, who said that Costello tried to bribe him to bring the former president out of his legal troubles.

The former president also criticized Merchan for his undue anger towards Costello. Trump called the judge a “tyrant” but avoided further remarks as his speech ability is restricted due to a gag order imposed by the same judge.

Eric Trump also labeled Merchan “disgraceful” and grilled him for not allowing Costello to tell his side of the story, which, according to Eric, would expose the charges against Trump.

Trump’s hush money trial is nearing its end, with the prosecution having already rested their case.
