Majority of Voters Endorse Trump’s Transition Approach

(DailyChive.com) – A new poll shows that most voters are happy with how President-elect Donald Trump is managing his transition to the presidency. The CBS News/YouGov survey, conducted from November 19-22 with 2,232 adults, found that 59% approved of Trump’s handling of the transition, while 41% disapproved according to the findings of the survey.

The poll also asked about several of Trump’s potential cabinet picks. For example, 44% of those surveyed thought Sen. Marco Rubio would be a “good choice” for secretary of state. Among Trump voters, that number jumped to 75%. On the other hand, 25% of respondents overall disagreed with Rubio’s selection, with only 5% of Trump voters feeling the same. Notably, 31% of all respondents said they hadn’t heard enough about the choice, including 19% of Trump voters as detailed in a recent poll.

Another question focused on the possibility of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. leading the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). In this case, 47% of respondents said it would be a good choice, and 80% of Trump voters agreed. Still, 34% of people didn’t think Kennedy was the right pick, though only 8% of Trump supporters disapproved. Again, some voters weren’t sure: 19% overall and 12% of Trump voters said they needed more information according to the survey results.

When it came to Pete Hegseth, a Fox News host considered for secretary of defense, opinions were more divided. While 33% of respondents overall thought he would be a good choice, 64% of Trump voters were in favor. However, 28% of all voters disapproved, and just 5% of Trump supporters agreed. A large portion—39% overall and 31% of Trump voters—felt they hadn’t heard enough to decide.

The survey also addressed former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard as a possible director of national intelligence. Seventy-one percent of Trump voters saw her as a good fit, compared to only 36% of respondents overall. Meanwhile, 27% disapproved of her selection, though just 5% of Trump voters agreed. Many were undecided, with 36% saying they needed more information.

Trump has faced criticism, especially from Democrats and the media, over some of his picks. For example, former Rep. Matt Gaetz withdrew from consideration for attorney general amid an ethics investigation. Trump has since nominated Pam Bondi to fill the role.
