Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Residence Targeted in Swatting Incident

(DailyChive.com) – An incident at Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s home in north Georgia took a tragic turn when a car accident involving a police officer responding to a bomb threat left a woman dead.

On Monday, Greene reported on social media that her home was the target of a swatting call—a false threat meant to provoke a heavy police response. An apparent swatting call targeting Greene’s home prompted the Rome Police Department’s assistant chief to take action after receiving an email claiming her home was in danger, leading to a bomb squad being sent to investigate. Greene has experienced swatting calls before, claiming this was at least the ninth time since she took office.

Swatting is a dangerous hoax that falsely alerts authorities to emergencies, pulling resources away from actual crises. Greene said the email threat was traced to a Russian IP address, and her team is now working with local and federal law enforcement, including the FBI, to track down the culprit. The bomb threat investigation not only strained local resources but also ended in tragedy.

As officers responded to the threat, a Rome Police officer heading to join the bomb squad was involved in a fatal car accident. According to police, the crash occurred on Redmond Road near a Walmart, causing significant traffic delays. Tragically, a woman, identified as Tammie Pickelsimer, lost her life, and the officer was injured.

Greene expressed deep sadness over the accident, calling it a heartbreaking consequence of the swatting incident. “An innocent woman lost her life today because of a despicable act. These violent political threats have real and fatal consequences,” Greene said. She also offered prayers for the victim’s family, the injured officer, and the Rome Police Department.

Greene did not hold back her outrage, accusing the person behind the swatting call of committing murder. “I’m sick to my stomach but also furious. This never should have happened, and I pray it never happens again,” she wrote.

Despite the tragedy, Greene thanked the Rome Police Department for their commitment to protecting her and the community. Meanwhile, the cause of the accident remains under investigation, and police have not released further details.

The rising threat of swatting incidents remains a growing concern across the country, with calls like these putting lives in danger and straining emergency services.
