Michael Cohen Tweets ‘RIP MAGA’ Just Before Trump’s Major Victory

(DailyChive.com) – Michael Cohen, once a close ally of Donald Trump but now one of his loudest critics, posted an AI-made graphic on social media showing a grave marked with “MAGA” and a baseball hat reading “RIP.” His post came just before former President Donald Trump clinched the 2024 presidential election, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris. In the caption, Cohen celebrated what he thought would be “the end of chaos and divisiveness,” tagging it with #ElectionDay2024 and #HarrisWalz2024.

This wasn’t the first time Cohen had publicly turned against his former boss. After working as Trump’s lawyer and “fixer” for years, Cohen was convicted in 2018 on charges including tax evasion, bank fraud, and campaign finance violations. Following his prison time, he became a vocal Trump critic, often mocking him online and even calling him “Von Shitz in Pants” in one of his rants.

Cohen also made a bold promise: if Trump won the election, he said he’d leave the country and change his name. In a September interview with MSNBC’s Deadline, he told host Nicole Wallace he was already “working on a foreign passport with a completely different name.” He added that he wasn’t sure how it would work for his family, but he felt he had “no choice” if Trump returned to power.

In that interview, Cohen also expressed concerns about Trump’s political revenge list. He named people like MSNBC’s president, General Mark Milley, and Liz Cheney as potential targets of Trump’s wrath. Cohen argued that Trump’s sense of “immunity” could push him to act without fear of consequences, especially since a recent Supreme Court ruling had granted Trump presidential immunity. To Cohen, this decision seemed like a “get-out-of-jail-free card” for Trump.

When Wallace asked if he was serious about leaving the U.S., Cohen responded, “I have no choice.” He insisted that he felt unsafe under another Trump presidency and was determined to leave if it happened.

Cohen may have thought he was bidding farewell to Trump, but the election outcome forced him to reckon with his own words. Whether he follows through on his promise to leave remains to be seen.
