(DailyChive.com) – The editorial board of the left-leaning media network, the Philadelphia Inquirer, asked former President Donald Trump to drop out of the White House race after the first presidential debate despite claiming that Biden had a “horrible night” at the podium.
The Inquirer’s editorial board noted that Trump’s lies, fear-mongering, and ignorance should be enough to force him out of the race. According to the newspaper, Trump’s political tenure so far has been characterized by “incivility” and “chaos,” and he repeatedly claimed that the United States is going through tough times and is a “third world nation,” which should be enough to keep him out of the presidential race.
The newspaper also maintained that Trump spoke at least 30 lies during the debate and blamed Biden for every wrong thing in the world. Giving Trump another shot at the White House would only result in more lies, chaos, and grievances, the newspaper added.
Inquirer also commented that Trump only served himself during his first term, played 261 rounds of golf and did nothing for the country. Instead, his family and multiple officials were involved in corrupt activities, which means that he should not even be present on the debate stage, let alone in the presidential race, the paper continued.
Inquirer’s comments came at a time when Biden is the one facing mounting criticism for his debate horror show which forced even top Democrats to question the president’s mental capabilities to run for the White House.
Reportedly, the liberal establishment and donors want Biden to allow someone else, like Vice President Kamala Harris or California Governor Gavin Newsom, to compete against Trump in the 2024 elections. Various Democratic donors, including those from the founding family of Walt Disney, have already stopped their donations to Democrats until Biden drops out.
Multiple other news organizations, like the New York Times have also asked Biden to drop out immediately for his inability to counter Trump’s assertions and even struggle to complete his own sentences.
Although Biden acknowledged that he “screwed up” the debate, he vows to stay in the race till the end.
