Police to Revoke Trump’s Concealed Carry Permit Over Felonies

(DailyChive.com) – Donald Trump’s gun permit is likely to be revoked after the New York jury found him guilty on all 34 counts of his hush money trial.

Although the permit was already suspended due to his indictment in April 2023, the New York Police Department (NYPD) is now working to implement the New York state and federal laws that do not allow convicted felons to possess a firearm.

Trump recently became the first ever former president of the United States to be convicted.

Each of his 34 counts can be punished with four years in prison each and a fine of $5,000. In total, this punishment can extend up to 136 years in jail and $170,000 in fines. However, most legal experts believe that he is unlikely to be imprisoned for being a first-time offender.

Trump was accused of lying about his payment to the adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential elections to remain silent about their intimate encounter.

Trump denied sleeping with Daniels and called the verdict a “disgrace” and a political witch hunt.

The former president himself is a vocal supporter of gun rights and is currently backed by the largest gun lobby organization in America, the National Rifle Association.

Meanwhile, a gun rights group, the Second Amendment Foundation, has announced to defend Trump’s gun rights in the wake of this news.

According to the SAF founder, Alan M. Gottlieb, the group will even try to challenge the law if the former president is prosecuted for carrying a pistol.

The organization further stated that they have a firm position that non-violent felons should maintain their gun rights.

He further added that the possible gun ban on Trump means that there is a desperate need to revise the gun rights laws in the United States, and if that does not happen, the group will sue both New York and the federal governments over these controversial laws.
