(DailyChive.com) – A convicted serial killer, Robert Pickton, infamously known as the “Pig Farmer Killer,” is facing life-threatening injuries after being mercilessly beaten in a prison.
Pickton was serving his jail term in a maximum security prison in Canada when another prisoner equipped with a broken broom handle attacked him.
Initial reports indicate that Pickton is unlikely to survive the attack.
Reportedly, Pickton and his brother inherited a pig farm where a strip club was later formed, which hosted dance parties that were attended by many local strippers in the late 1990s.
Pickton’s legal troubles began as early as 1997 when he was accused of stabbing a s*x worker, Wendy Lynn Eistetter.
The Pickton brothers were arrested in 2002 when law enforcement found the belongings of a deceased woman on their farm.
By 2005, Robert Pickton was charged with the murder of 27 women, most of whom allegedly came to his farm before their murders. During the investigation, however, the police found the DNA of at least 33 women on the controversial farm that became a site for ruthless murders in the early 2000s.
At one point during his investigation, Pickton also told an undercover police officer that he killed 49 women.
Some disturbing evidence from the investigation also revealed that Pickton mixed the human remains of the dead bodies in the pig’s meat and sold them to his customers. Back in 2004, the Canadian newspaper Globe and Mail also issued an advisory that warned consumers against the possible adulteration of pig meat with human remains.
At the time, the criminal justice system also attracted criticism for not taking Pickton’s crimes seriously just because most of the women he killed were s*x workers.
Meanwhile, Cynthia Cardinal, the sister of one of Pickton’s victims, stated that she felt relieved after hearing the news of the attack on Pickton, adding that her sister would also be happy.
Pickton is now under treatment in a Quebec City hospital.
