(DailyChive.com) – Former President Donald Trump has weighed in on the growing mystery surrounding unidentified drones spotted in multiple states. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump called on the government to act and, if necessary, “shoot them down”.
“Mystery Drone sightings all over the Country,” Trump wrote. “Can this really be happening without our government’s knowledge? I don’t think so! Let the public know, and now. Otherwise, shoot them down!!! DJT.”
Trump’s comments come as reports of strange drones continue to grow. People across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, and Maryland have claimed to see drones flying overhead. Many say they are unsure where the drones are coming from or what they are doing.
Several lawmakers are now calling for answers. New Jersey state Sen. Jon Bramnick, Rep. Thomas Kean Jr. (R-NJ), and former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan have urged the government to investigate and provide the public with more information.
Government agencies, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), are looking into the reports. In a joint statement, the agencies said they have “no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or public safety threat or have a foreign nexus.”
The statement also noted that officials are trying to confirm whether these are actual drones, other types of aircraft, or even inaccurate sightings. “The FBI, DHS, and our federal partners continue to deploy personnel and technology to investigate this situation,” the agencies added.
Some rumors have gone as far as suggesting the drones could be linked to a foreign power. For instance, Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) claimed the drones might come from an Iranian “mothership” near the East Coast. However, the Pentagon has strongly denied this claim.
“We have no evidence that these activities are coming from a foreign entity,” said Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh. “We will keep monitoring the situation, but at no point were any of our military installations threatened.”
As reports grow, the public and officials alike are demanding answers. Until then, the mystery drones remain just that—mysterious.
