Trump Achieves Record-Breaking Lead in NYT Poll

(DailyChive.com) – Former President Donald Trump breaks all the previous records by taking a six-point lead against President Joe Biden among likely voters and an eight-point lead among registered voters in the latest New York Times Polls.

According to the polls, Trump enjoys the backing of 49% of likely voters compared to 43% who support Biden. Among already registered voters, Trump is leading the polls with 49% to 41%.

These polls came in the aftermath of Biden’s miserable debate performance, which raised questions about his mental capabilities and age. A majority of voters, nearly 74%, believe that Biden is too old to run for the presidency. This includes voters from almost every demographic, including black voters and so-called “Never-Trumpers” who are also “completely disillusioned” from Biden’s poor debate show.

Before the debate, nearly 51% of Democratic voters were concerned about Biden’s age, but that number has since swelled to 59%. Similarly, almost 79% of independent voters are worried about the president’s rising age and poor mental abilities.

Meanwhile, an overwhelming number of Republican voters believe that Biden should not drop out of the White House race because they see him as an easy competitor to beat after the debate debacle.

Only 34% of voters believe that Biden has improved the condition of the country compared to 47% who think the same about Trump. Every demographic other than black voters suggested that Biden’s presidency has made the country worse.

Trump is also impressing voters who believe that the economy and inflation are the top issues that could determine the results of the 2024 presidential race.

This poll is the latest sign of worry for Biden, who had already been grappling with the reputation crisis before the debate. Now, the president is facing increased calls to commit to an independent cognitive test that could determine if he is able to serve as the president of the United States. However, Biden is reluctant to take such a test, which further increases voters’ skepticism.
