Trump Allies Charged for Involvement with Electoral Scheme

(DailyChive.com) – A grand jury in Arizona indicted 18 individuals, including top allies of former President Donald Trump, for questioning the credibility of the 2020 presidential elections.

Republican heavyweights who are indicted include former Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis, former Chief of Staff of the Trump White House Mark Meadows, former chair of the Arizona Republican party Kelli Ward and her husband, as well as the former Trump campaign advisor Boris Epshteyn.

Other indicted Republicans include Arizona State Senators Jake Hoffman and Anthony Kern, conservative activist Tyler Bowyer, James Lamon, Lorraine Pellegrino, Gregory Safsten, Nancy Cottle, Robert Montgomery, and Samuel Moorhead.

Four of the indicted individuals, including Giuliani, Meadows, Epshteyn, and Ellis, allegedly helped Trump in getting the electoral college votes of the state despite Biden’s victory.

On the other hand, Hoffman, Kern, and Ward were indicted for signing documents that claimed Trump won the state of Arizona against Biden.

This indictment came in the backdrop of the latest election polls, according to which Trump is leading against Biden in six of seven battleground states, including Arizona, that are likely to decide the outcome of this year’s presidential elections. Only in the swing state of Wisconsin is Biden leading with a small margin of 3%.

Meanwhile, Arizona’s Democratic Attorney General Kris Mayes praised the jury. She noted that the voters of Arizona elected Joe Biden in the 2020 elections, but Trump and his allies tried to overturn the results and undermine the will of the American people. However, the jury has taken necessary steps to ensure justice, Mayes added.

This decision by the Arizona grand jury is not the first of its kind assault on Trump and his allies.

Last year, 16 ‘fake electors’ were charged in Michigan due to their alleged role in attempting to overturn the state’s election results in Trump’s favor.

Top Republicans, including Trump, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, and former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, have repeatedly criticized these legal actions, marking them as a political witch hunt.
