(DailyChive.com) – Donald Trump’s Vice Presidential hopeful Senator Tim Scott defended Trump in a heated interview with ABC News’ Jonathan Karl.
During the interview, Scott slammed President Biden over his failure to bring crimes down in inner cities where far-left policies have resulted in a notable increase in lawlessness.
According to Scott, he has never seen such a massive rise in violent crimes in his life and controversial policies like police defunding have pushed communities into the doldrums.
The Senator further noted that bringing Donald Trump back into the White House is the only way to reduce rising crimes as the former president has a history of respecting law enforcement forces.
Scott specifically mentioned Chicago, where hundreds of people have died in more than 4,000 mass shootings, which suggests a rise in violent crimes. Women are unable to go outside in the dark, Scott continued, due to the fears of violent crimes. The conservative lawmaker also slammed Biden over his controversial open border policies that have urged more than 10 million illegal immigrants to enter the US and pursue crimes against locals.
As Trump continues short-listing his potential VP candidates, Scott is also increasing his efforts to come in the good books of the former president. He is launching a $14 million initiative to target black voters in key battleground states that could decide the tilt of the 2024 presidential elections.
Although Trump is already leading in most of these states, Scott’s initiative is likely to help him further improve his standing among black voters, most of whom rally with Democrats.
Polling data shows that black voters are getting attracted towards Trump as they continue developing their differences with Biden, who mostly failed to fulfill his promises to the minority voter groups. Reportedly, Trump is enjoying the support of 21% of black voters, which presents a worrying sign for the Biden campaign.
Scott has previously faced criticism from other black Americans who accused him of being a pawn in Trump’s hand.
