(DailyChive.com) – Former President Donald Trump threw his weight behind the Senate hopeful Sam Brown in a Nevada Senate race that is very much likely to decide the balance of the US Senate after the November elections.
Brown is a military veteran who has served in Afghanistan and is running against the incumbent Senator Jacky Rosen from the Nevada senate seat.
Trump posted on Truth Social that Brown has all the abilities to deal with both the local and international enemies of the US, adding that he drew his motivation for the Senate election after seeing the radical left led by Biden destroying the country.
The former president also acknowledged Brown’s efforts as a soldier who was wounded in a horrific 2008 bombing but recovered successfully.
According to Trump, it is time to fight against the status quo that is pushing the country into chaos. He further added that Brown will take a tough stance on critical issues like border security, illegal immigration, rising inflation and a nosediving economy. He will also strive hard to protect gun rights and make America great again, Trump continued.
Meanwhile, Brown thanked Trump for his endorsement and promised to work under his leadership after winning the 2024 elections.
After Trump’s endorsement, Brown has already won the Nevada senate primaries by defeating his GOP rival Jeff Gunter who was also trying to win the former president’s backing for the primaries. Gunter, who has served as the US ambassador to Iceland under Trump, accused the former president of making his endorsement under the influence of a “big check.”
Although not many polls are available for the race, one New York Times poll suggests that both Rosen and Brown have the backing of 41% of voters each, with the remaining 18% still undecided.
The Nevada Senate seat presents a golden opportunity for the GOP to take back control of the Senate, as this is the state where Trump is currently leading by more than a 5% margin.
