(DailyChive.com) – Donald Trump, the President-elect, has announced that Devin Nunes, CEO of Truth Social, will serve as the Chairman of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. This board is made up of citizens outside of the federal government and provides independent reviews of intelligence activities.
Trump made the announcement on Truth Social, his social media platform. He praised Nunes for his previous role as Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, where he played a major part in investigating and exposing what Trump referred to as the “Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax.” According to Trump, Nunes will now use that experience to evaluate the effectiveness and fairness of U.S. intelligence operations.
In his post, Trump wrote, “I am pleased to appoint Devin Nunes as Chairman of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board. While continuing to lead Trump Media & Technology Group, Devin will provide independent assessments of how well our intelligence community is doing and whether it is acting properly.”
Nunes, for his part, expressed gratitude for the new role. In a statement, he said, “I’m honored by this appointment and will work to ensure our intelligence agencies are functioning as they should, free from political interference. It’s also critical to expose and stop any surveillance abuses or violations of Americans’ civil rights. Anyone responsible for such actions will be held accountable.”
Truth Social, which Nunes currently leads as CEO, is Trump’s platform for sharing political statements, commentary on current events, and endorsements of candidates. The platform is central to Trump’s efforts to connect directly with his supporters.
This announcement comes as Trump continues to build influence through his media ventures. Earlier this year, his social media company, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), merged with Digital World Acquisition Corp., reportedly boosting Trump’s net worth by billions.
By choosing Nunes, Trump seems to be doubling down on his focus on accountability in government intelligence and expanding his influence through trusted allies. Whether this new appointment will significantly impact the intelligence community remains to be seen, but it’s clear that Trump is bringing his closest supporters into key positions as he prepares for his presidency.
