(DailyChive.com) – A majority of Americans believe that Donald Trump is more “competent” and “effective” than Joe Biden.
In his 2020 campaign message, Biden reassured Americans that he would be a more competent and effective president compared to Donald Trump.
However, recent polls are suggesting that Biden has failed to prove his assertion. Only 36% of voters now believe that Biden is more effective than Trump, compared to 47% who think otherwise.
When Biden made this daring assertion back in 2020, he won the polls on this statement by almost 10% margin. However, now he lost the same poll with an 11% gap, which shows a cumulative gain of 21% for Trump over the last four years.
Trump is also enjoying a 4% lead over Biden on the question of which presidential candidate is more capable of leading the nation in times of crisis. It is also found that Trump has a good record as president compared to Biden and that he has better mental and physical health than his Democratic rival.
Biden defeated Trump in most of these polls before the 2020 elections.
Americans have questioned Biden’s physical and mental fitness on various occasions. Almost 36% of respondents expressed confidence in Trump’s physical fitness, while only 15% had the same thoughts about Biden.
Both Biden and Trump are going neck to neck in a tightly contested race. Trump is currently leading by just a 2% margin in a nationwide poll, which also shows that 10% of voters are either undecided or support a third-party ticket.
Among the third-party candidates, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is likely to put on an impressive show in the 2024 elections and can even act as a party spoiler for a major candidate, probably Biden, due to his left-leaning stance on climate change. There is a growing voter alienation in the country, and many voters have stated that they would like to replace both the existing candidates with fresh faces.
