Trump’s Lawyer Claims Trial Was Unfair, Explains Next Steps

(DailyChive.com) – Donald Trump’s lawyer, Todd Blanche, claims that the former president did not receive a fair trial in his hush money case.

Speaking on Fox News, Blanche stated that they were expecting this verdict and that the trial became controversial the moment the judge refused to recuse himself from the case.

According to Blanche, they filed two separate motions against the controversial judge who attracted criticism due to his family ties with Democratic operatives, but the judge did not recuse himself.

He further added that the flawed legal process breached many constitutional rights of the former president, the biggest of which was the assault on his free speech.

The gag order against Trump, Blanche continued, hindered his ability to campaign in the election year when his rivals were busy attacking him, but he was unable to retaliate due to the legal limitations.

Trump himself criticized the verdict and called it “disgraceful,” adding that Americans will deliver the real verdict on November 5.

Blanche also praised Trump’s resilience in the face of legal battles, stating that he spent a lot of time with the former president, who continued to motivate and encourage him throughout the trial.

Blanche also criticized the jury selection process, claiming that this process was bound to be controversial in a deeply blue region of Manhattan where most people have a strong opinion of the former president.

Trump’s legal team has long urged the courts to change the venue of his trial due to the possibility of a biased jury. However, their motions were rejected.

Although Trump has indicated that he is “ok” with being imprisoned, he also warned that Americans could reach the “breaking point” if this happens.

If jailed, Trump will be the second candidate in the history of the United States to run for the presidency from jail. Previously, Eugene V. Debs of the socialist party ran for the White House from prison in the 1920 elections.
