Harris has also argued that while Trump talks tough on the border, he failed to deliver real solutions.
Harris also pointed out that a border security bill with bipartisan support was in progress until Trump intervened, causing Republicans to abandon it. She blames him for sinking the deal for political gain and has promised to revive the bill if she becomes president.
While campaigning, Harris highlights her experience as a “border state prosecutor” in California, where she worked on cases involving gangs and drug cartels. Her campaign has also released a new ad emphasizing her past work on the border and her plans to strengthen security while still offering a path to citizenship for some migrants.
Harris’s visit is part of her broader effort to address concerns about immigration, a key issue that voters continue to focus on as the election nears. In her recent interview, she stressed the need for a comprehensive plan that not only strengthens the border but creates legal pathways to citizenship.
