Woman’s Remains Found After Daytime Carjacking

(DailyChive.com) – Florida police believe they have found the burned remains of a woman who was carjacked and abducted in broad daylight in a charred car at a construction site.

The unfortunate incident happened on April 11 at around 6 pm, when a masked man with a 10mm handgun carjacked and abducted Katherine Altagracia Guerrero De Aguasvivas.

A video recorded by a bystander shows the assailant entering Guerrero’s vehicle after forcing her to unlock the doors of her car. Once the attacker sat in the rear seat of the vehicle, Guerrero continued driving as they were followed closely by another suspect in the green Acura sedan.

The person who captured the harrowing scene on video subsequently dialed 911, but it was already too late.

Police reached the construction site in Osceola County after receiving reports of gunshots and smoke just two hours after the carjacking incident, where they found the remains allegedly belonging to Guerrero.

Dennis Lemma, the sheriff of Seminole County, expressed grave concerns about the incident. He refused to label the event as a “random” crime and instead noted that the perpetrators already knew the person they were chasing. Lemma expressed shock at the audacity of the criminals who boldly carried out the crime in broad daylight.

Guerrero, originally from the Dominican Republic, was a US citizen and was supposed to celebrate her 32nd birthday four days after the tragic incident.

Investigators also revealed that Guerrero called her husband to tell him that someone was following her. Her husband advised her to continue driving, but neither of them dialed 911.

Lemma stated that the case left multiple mysteries, like why Guerrero stopped the car at the red light when she already knew she was being chased and why the couple did not call 911.

The Daily Mail reported that the police also found multiple 10mm bullet shells and a projectile at the construction site.

The investigation is still underway, and the suspects are believed to be involved in another murder just a day before Guerrero’s abduction.
