Nightclub Shooting Results in 1 Death, 7 Injuries

(DailyChive.com) – A tragic shooting incident in a Kentucky nightclub left one dead and seven injured on June 22.

The police have yet to identify the suspect but have found someone who might know the location of the vehicle related to the crime.

According to the statements of the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD), almost 40 people were present in the vicinity of the club when the suspect, who remains at large, opened gun fire outside the club. Police officials rushed to the crime scene at 12:45 am local time and found a critically injured 40-year-old Joseph D. Bowers, who suffered from gun wounds. The police tried to give him first aid while waiting for the Emergency Medical Services, but Joseph died before the EMS reached the scene. The deceased individual originally came from Indianapolis.

Seven individuals, including a man suffering from life-threatening injuries, were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. The current medical condition of the victims remains unknown.

The H20 club immediately canceled its planned gatherings and closed its doors temporarily as the police investigated the case. The Louisville Metro Alcoholic Beverage Control claimed that the facility was closed by keeping communal safety in mind and giving the club enough time to gather courage after the loss of their employee.

LMPD’s Lt. Les Skaggs noted that they know someone who is aware of the whereabouts of the vehicle involved in the shooting. Skaggs added that they are trying to locate the light-colored Chevy Tahoe as it can lead them to identify the suspect.

Skaggs also urged eyewitnesses to come forward with any evidence that might prove consequential in catching the suspect. The detective further added that LMPD is reporting a notable rise in homicides and that the police are doing more to curb this rising wave of crime.

Meanwhile, Louisville’s liberal Mayor, Craig Greenberg, argued that gun violence is pushing the city into chaos which needs to stop immediately.
